19th Century Fairground Horse with Stand

Charming 19th century fairground horse, this would have been attached to a ride, perhaps to a carousel, and is here displayed on a metal stand which has been designed as a rest, although the horse will lift off and stand on four legs without the support. It is a dappled grey with brightly painted saddle and reins, metal stirrups and a horsehair tail, a loop extending from the mane for attachment to the ride along with metal brackets on the underside and below the saddle on one side. This will make a lovely display for a collector, or a statement piece for an interior which demands something eclectic and fun. Dating to the 19th century, this is made of pine and metal, and originates from England.
