1940s Vertex Pocket Watch for British Rail

The watch has a good clean 15-jewel Swiss stem-winding movement, signed Vertex, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner cover which has a British Railway presentation for 45 years’ service. The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated Star model from the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer of watch cases and supplier to various watch makers. The case is in lovely condition, just light marking, nothing serious at all. The glass lens is in good condition as is the signed dial with original gold hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute track. The watch comes in a new presentation box.
