Description
A superb North European mahogany secretaire abbatant from the late 19th century. Quite likely to be French but similar in style to other Countries. The feathered mahogany veneers are of the highest quality and look fantastic. The top is stepped and of serpentine form below which is a shaped drawer and fall front which exposes a stunning fitted interior with side drawers that are serpentine fronted sandwiching a portico surround to a bow-fronted cupboard door. Underneath is a handy plain shelf. Below all this are three drawers all of which is sat on block feet (the rear ones are later replacement). The columns to the side of the fall terminate with crisply carved capitals.
