An attractive drop dial clock, the dial signed for John Brownbill, Liverpool. There were several makers by this name in Liverpool between 1795 and 1851. This clock probably dates from around 1840.
The case is in nicely figured mahogany, has well carved mounts and a good quality cast brass bezel. The case has retained its original finish and is in excelent condition
The 8 day fusee movement has its original long pendulum and is in good working order and keeping good time.
There is an interesting label pasted in the side door recording the clock being serviced by John Brownbill in 1866
