Our business is based in the beautiful village of Debenham in Suffolk, England, which is close to Constable country. I take our pride in being the 4th generation in my family to be antique dealers who have been buying and selling antiques for over a century. With our expanding web presence in the UK, we also have a base in the USA with Debenham Antiques inc. Along with expanding our international web based business, we also quite unusually retain our high street presence, with a large retail shop which we use to display our finest goods, and to offer the client a more personal service for the those who like to discuss their needs.
Here at Debenham Antiques we try to cater for all styles and tastes, and we believe this is reflected in our stock as you can find anything from 15th century carvings to late 20th century fine quality furniture. We have experts in furniture and paintings who buy our goods with safe knowledge. We also offer a wide range of fine quality reproduction furniture which is all lovingly handcrafted by ourselves locally, using the best timbers.
Debenham Antiques works hard to ensure that we provide the client with a quality experience from start to finish. All our buying, photography, restoration, polishing and shipping is carried out in house by our dedicated team of staff. This we feel allows us to be in control from start to finish, which only benefits our customers.
Rustic 19th century painted glazed vitrine circa 1890. Good quality cabinet that would work well around the home or for retail display. Comprising of 2 sections, each fitted with 2 double doors and glazed panels. top section with cornice with doors below which open to reveal 2 fixed shelves either side of central partition, bottom section fitted with a single shelf either side of the partition. Painted in a warm grey with a later contrasting dark grey interior. raised on 6 turned feet. Due to the piece being fairly lightweight we recommend that the top section should be fixed to a wall to increase stability when loaded. slight shrinkage to 1 door which is visible showing gaps on the pictures. please bare in mind that this is a rustic piece of furniture and that the doors will not open and close like something made by a fine cabinet maker. Minor rubbing and fading to paintwork.
