Description
Here we have an early 19th century flintlock box-lock pistol by Ezekiel Baker, London with long turn off barrel, frame engraved E Baker London within ovals amongst martial trophies, thumbpiece safety catch also locking steel, trigger guard engraved with a shell motif, flat sided walnut butt.
Ezekiel Baker (1758-1836) was apprenticed to and workman for Henry Nock and was the inventor of the Baker rifle. He went onto become Gunmaker-in-Ordinary to King George IV and was influential in the King's passion for shooting and collecting.
Nb. This is an obsolete calibre pistol and is therefore classed by the Home Office as a collector's item. There is no necessity to own a firearms license to sell or own this piece.
