9ct Gold Cameo Brooch with Hand Engraved Maiden Head

We are delighted to offer this lovely vintage 9K gold cameo brooch made in Birmingham, England in 1966-7. A wonderful shell cameo is mounted in a solid 9K gold frame with the central figurehead featuring intricate craftsmanship and engravings. The figural features are crisp and delicately embellished, and the facial expression and details in the hair work are particularly beautiful and noteworthy. A tiny bale is present on the top which may allow a small string-type necklace to be threaded to use this also as a pendant. On the reverse side, a locking clasp is present for extra security. A splendid gift to a lucky individual or as an indulgent treat for oneself. Classically inspired and immediately distinguished when worn as an accoutrement to fine clothing. The brooch is fully marked with English gold hallmarks for 9K solid gold on the reverse inside edge of the frame. Please refer to the photos for further details.
