A Good Late 19th Century Aesthetic Movement Iron Stick Stand

A fabulous and large late 19th century cast iron stick stand in high Aesthetic Movement style (and very reminiscent of pre-eminent 19th century designer Thomas Jeckyll) decorated in relief with a central neoclassical urn, swags, swallows in flight, flowerheads, aesthetic roundels and vertical 'turned' spindles so typical of this circa 1885 date. The stand has a removable lower 'double' tray and is stamped with shape numbers and of course (at this date), reassuring diamond registration lozenges. In excellent original condition, the stand measures 85 cm (highest) x 55 cm (widest point at base) and 21 cm (deepest point at base).
