African Senufo Bird Carved Wood Sculpture, set as a Tall Lamp This wonderful antique carving has been set on a circular plinth which supports a lamp lighting it from above This is a 'sejen' hornbill bird sculpture from the Senufo people of the Ivory Coast, the carved wood has an embossed sheet metal overlay on the wings, body, legs and parts of the head, between the wood and the brass there is a layer of red fabric The Lamp has been beautifully matched with a unique French hand splatter painted parchment shade The lamp is 44” including the shade and 24” across
