Antique Afshar Rug - Afshar Tribes of Kerman - South Persia - Late 19th Century

Wonderfully beautiful earlier afshar weaving. It's shape/size being an indicator of an earlier date being not far off square, along with its very finely woven pile and again very fine wool weft and finely spun cotton foundations. dark midnight blue central ground colour with rows of botehs with alternating colours within each and juxtaposed with each other. The side bindings are of different coloured wools typical of nomadic and tribal weavings. Even fringes, washed and dusted (see last images). Free World Posting @ £2850 GBP.
