This is an antique framed sampler. An English, needlepoint tapestry panel, dated to the Victorian period and later, circa 1850. Delightful early Victorian period sampler. Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order. Charming needlepoint with an attractive colour palette. Bird's Eye Maple figuring to the frame, with ebonised edge. A cheerful dog chases a bird through a riverside scene. Foliate border of alternating flowerheads adds further detail Named and dated to 1853 by a Mary Ann Shaw.
