Antique Leather Hat Box by Scott & Co Bond Street

Lovely nut-brown leather hat box which is one of the very best, it is lined in green silk and the maker, Scott & Co, makers to the king and the royal family, 1 Old Bond Street Piccadilly, is proudly displayed on the beautiful pigskin lining of the lid. The name is also impressed on the left side of the front of the lid. I have had dozens of hatboxes, but this one takes the biscuit, it really does, The condition is phenomenal and the colour of the leather is gorgeous. The lock is a polished brass and the spring works fine, and the carrying handle on the top is a lovely shape and held by a pair of brass hasps, the whole thing shouts quality. Brilliant hatbox, ready to grace any setting.
