Antique Silver Churchill Chain & Fob

This style of chain was often worn by Winston Churchill so has become known as the Churchill chain. The chain measures 35cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The T-bar is hallmarked for Birmingham 1884. Each of the links on the chain have the lion silver mark. The clasp is a little earlier in date, hallmarked for 1880. Also included is a silver fob (possible originally gilded). There is no date mark but there is a maker’s mark for Denton & Down who registered marks at the beginning of the 20th Century.
