Art Deco Elgin American Vanity Purse Powder & Rouge Compact with Wristlet c.1920

On offer is this most attractive art deco flapper era vanity purse by Elgin American which dates circa 1920. The case measures 6.5cm in length and the attached wristlet chain adds a further 12cm in length. The case is made of chromium metal with attractive machine turned pattern to the base. The lid has cold painted enamel decoration in a high art deco fashion in blue, lilac and yellow. The attached broad link bar chain has enamelled links. The case has firm hinge and secure ball and hook catch. Under the lid is a clear and reflective framed glass mirror. The powder well in the base is covered by a turning dial mechanism that can be left open or on sift. It also has another small round compartment beneath the dial with pressed rouge.The bright pink rouge is still present. The case retains the original puff and is marked on the inside with the Elgin American factory logo. # This art deco vanity compact is offered in good condition. The chromium metal is clean and untarnished and free of dents and dings. The enamel lid has has some losses to the edges as visible in the images.
