Art Deco Limed Oak & Carved Camphor Wood Chest
This Beautiful Carved Chest is made in limed Oak and lined with Camphor Wood, for those of you who do not know camphor wood it is a hard wood which lends itself very well to carving.
However the main reason for using camphor wood is its fragrance, it smells a bit like Eucalyptus and this most attractive of smells repels moths hence its common use in the best quality Blanket Boxes
The chest is a classic Odeon shape at the top and carved panels depicting Ships and City scenes, on the top back and the front there is a large brass clasp on the front, and the interior is clean
The Chest is 40” long x 22” high and 20” deep
