Art Deco Period Modernist Oak Pedestal Desk C.1930

A wonderful single owner British oak Modernist desk with the addition of 2 shelves to the side hidden from front view. We are rather liking this one, certainly big fans of the design and that little drawer to the left is just fabulous. The scale makes it very placeable, the worn deep RAF blue top is great and plenty of drawer space with original oak handles. Certainly have a look of Heal’s but no maker's mark. The lines are simple, well defined and tight - nothing over the top on the design, very easy and pleasing to the eye and of course being oak is a real bonus. Condition wise it's good. The piece has enjoyed a careful repolish without taking away its history and past. All drawers are running well and we also have a working key for all the drawers. We have the odd nip to the bottom edges but nothing bad or nasty. The top of course is worn, if you require a new leather insert then please let us know, we however prefer the worn look to be honest. The desk sits at the right height and is ready to place and enjoy. One of the best we have found this year, British C.1930.
