Description
On offer is this fine English powder compact made of sterling silver and fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1934. This compact measures 7.5cm in diameter and has plain silver base. The lid has fabulous sunny yellow guilloche enamel with very attractive engine turned pattern beneath the vitreous coating and with silver and black enamel border.
The case has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal an empty open powder well in the base. The hallmarks are in the powder well and the case is further marked above the mirror. The compact has a framed clear and reflective mirror under the lid.
This 1930s Art Deco powder compact is offered in very good condition. The case has no dents or dings and the silver is clean and shiny. The image of the base shows what appear to be marks but these are simply reflection from the room as the base is so smooth and reflective the image was hard to capture. The guilloche enamel is in perfect order with no cracks, chips or scratches. Thank you for looking.
