Description
On offer is this rare 1920s German figural sewing etui made of tin plate in the form of a world globe. This sewing etui measures approx 4.8cm in height and has a flattened base so can stand upright without support. The globe is tin plate and the lid lifts off to 6 fitted wooden bobbins and a central wooden removeable compartment to store needles and pins. This should have a metal lid which is now missing. This is a charming figural sewing set - the globe showing the world map at the time it was made with the names of countries such as Siam, Burma, Congo State, Persia. This rare art deco sewing set is offered in good overall condition with bright and clean retained colours and free of dents or dings. Thank you for looking.
