We also enjoy the great craft and quality construction in folk art and vernacular items from across Europe. In particular, Scandinavian decorative items from the 18th and 19th Century. We enjoy being analytical in our approach and supporting our stock with background research, provenance and history through researching the items, the period, designers and retailers. We often hunt the country from our Scottish location, but routinely search from Lancashire and Yorkshire as well as buying trips further afield to supply items online. We also like to take on items that particularly interest us from earlier periods, dependent on our fascination for an object. For sale is a beautiful Arts & Crafts Movement brass alms dish from the Keswick School of Industrial Art c.1900-1910. - The broad repeating pattern to the edge of the dished tray is a repousse design of scrolling seed pods / poppy heads and foliate design to the edge / rim. The overall impression similar to some of the round Keswick school mirrors also produced with repeating patterns to the edge. - Dished and planished centre to around a 2cm depth, with a great quality to the reverse and edge on the back of the tray, beautifully finished throughout - Stamped Ksia, circa 11" diameter A lovely item in beautiful solid gauge brass with high quality decoration *The copper candle sconce is not included in this listing but is also available from W&W Antiques.
