Description
This is a stunning early Arts & Crafts oak planter. Beautifully carved and the uttermost attention to detail. Original screws as part of the feature together with the small brass straps. All untouched. Slight chamfers on the feet.
There is an architect who used Arthur Simpson and one can see the similarities in the carving on the planter and in the building that he designed, however i'm willing to discuss this with a potential customer as to any validity of any potential attribution.
A highly decorative item. Understated but so Arts & Crafts. This is as good as it gets and the whole movement was started with hand made pieces like this. A true understanding of wood, attention to detail and construction by a master craftsman.

Very good. There appears to be a crack at the bottom of one panel. The base is as per photos. Some signs of usage. Unpolished and untouched. Please zoom in on photos or ask for more photos.
