The Battle of Trafalgar:-
This is a vibrant and original oil on canvas depicting a ferocious naval battle between three large naval galleons with guns firing cannon shots in high seas.
This would be one of many battles between the waring fleets of the French and Spanish navies which eventually ended in a major battle detailed below which was recorded in history as the famous Battle of Trafalgar where Lord Nelson was fatally injured.
The wonderfully executed work is professionally painted and although unsigned it is a magnificent work. The oil on canvas painting is presented within a good quality decorative swept gilt frame.

Manner of James Hardy III, a listed artist from Britain who was born in 1937.
His paintings are highly sought after due to the collectible nature of his subject matter and his wonderful detail. He specialised in marine art.
His sold prices vary from hundreds to thousands and sell quickly. - A very colourful work capturing the late evenings sunset and choppy seas as cannon fire causes multiple plashes.The painting is distinctly signed in the lower right bottom corner in a white paint.
About The Battle of Trafalgar ( 21st October 1805):-
This famous naval engagement was fought by the British Royal Navy against the combined fleets of the French and Spanish Navies, during the War of the Third Coalition (August–December 1805) of the Napoleonic Wars (1796–1815).
During the battle, Nelson was shot by a French musketeer he died shortly thereafter, becoming one of Britain''s greatest war heroes. Villeneuve was captured along with his ship Bucentaure.
Admiral Federico Gravina, the senior Spanish flag officer, escaped with the remnant of the fleet and succumbed months later to wounds sustained during the battle. Villeneuve attended Nelson''s funeral while a captive on parole in Britain.
