19th Century Romantic Scottish Tapestry in Maple Frame
The tapestry dates from approximately 1850 it is hand woven in wool and silk, it is in its original Maple Frame which has protected it very well.
The colours of the tapestry are bright and do not appear faded in any way, the scene is set in the Scottish country side with a young man and his sweetheart sitting beneath tree with their dog and holding a bird, they are dressed in blues and reds.
This is a genuinely old piece it has a charmingly naive appeal.
The tapestry is 34” wide and 39” high and is in very good condition.
