China Trio: A Wonderful Colclough Art Deco China Trio From Their “4117” Pattern.

This is a wonderful 1937 Art Deco fine bone China trio, by Colclough. The trio includes: Teacup, saucer, and shaped side plate. Founded in 1890 by Herbert Joseph Colclough, the firm was awarded a Royal Charter in 1913, to produce a range of ostentatious designs for King George V and Queen Mary. As the company moved into the 1920 and 30’s Art Deco period, Colclough continued to design and render some of the most beautifully creative, hand-painted patterns of the day, on to their high-quality China porcelain…This trio being no exception to that fact! With stunningly eye-catching wild blue flowers finished with gold trim, the “4117” pattern certainly stimulates the senses and perfectly exaggerates the creative genre of the time. (Nb: The Mark shown on the base of the trio items, was only used by Colclough during the Deco period years of 1935-1937, so the trio is not only stunning visually, but also scarce and very collectable!)
