Description
Large example of a polished and carved Coco De Mer, sometimes known as the forbidden fruit, there’s many myths and stories concerning these unusual seeds, the largest in the plant kingdom. They come from the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean, and these carved out examples are often thought to have been used for bailing water. This one is good colour and has one small, stable, crack to the top edge. I can’t work out if it’s always been there or has occurred in the last 100 years. See images. All my photos are taken using natural light only. Ready to be a conversation starter.
