Ebonised Occasional Table Designed by Charles Eastlake c.1870

This stylish 19th Century English antique ebonised table which is based on a design from Charles Eastlake's illustrated 'hints on household furniture' and was published in 1869. The table top which has a moulded edge is almost square. Attached to the curved top rail are brackets on each corner. The table has four turned legs with scallop shaped stretchers on turned feet. This is an unusual table and one of Charles Eastlake's (1836-1906) classic designs, but they are very sort after and so its hard to come across them.
