Description
This is a fine pair of circa 1840, London made, 16 bore percussion belt pistols with octagonal sighted barrels both signed W Adams, London with Birmingham proof marks, and fitted with stirrup ram rods beneath, sprung blued steel belt tangs, scroll engraved side hammer actions incorporating the back sights on the top, engraved steel mounts and trigger guards, finely chequered butts with steel mounted hinged butt caps decorated with engraved flowers.
A lovely pair of London made pistols in fine, fully working condition.
Nb. These are obsolete calibre pistols and is therefore classed by the Home Office as a collector's items. There is no necessity to own a firearms license to sell or own these pieces.

Cock and hold in both positions and fire with a crisp strong action. Walnut in very good condition. Evidence of light old rust spots to barrel of one of the pistols but otherwise they are in lovely condition for their age.
