Description
UK Postage Only For This Item
The watch has a 20-jewel calibre 501 automatic movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has a serial number with an R prefix which tells us that it is an Omega factory replacement.
The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition, just minor marking, nothing serious at all. The inside of the case back has the Omega logo, together with the case reference 2846 8 Sc which is correct for the calibre 501 with centre seconds. The back of the watch has the faint Seamaster name and it also states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture. The Seamaster name, rather than the hippocampus, tell us this watch was manufactured between 1955 and 1958.
Correct signed Omega winding crown.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is possibly an old re-dial. Cross hair detail, dauphine shaped hands and the centre seconds hand. There are a couple of small patches of paint loss to the edge and some darkening.
A new leather strap has been fitted, it has a vintage Omega buckle.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
All Prices Include UK Postage.
Please contact us for international shipping prices (Ddu, details in delivery information section below).
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a Vat registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the red 'Buy Now' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
