Description
The watch has a 15-jewel calibre 265 hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 12,165,722 dates it back to 1950.
The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated with a thick 80 microns of plate. It is in good condition with just light marking, nothing serious at all. The inside of the case back has the Omega logo and the name Central Watch Case Company.
Interestingly, the Central Watch Case Company (Fabrique de Boites La Centrale Sa) of Switzerland were based in the former Brandt Brothers factory in rue de Boujean.
The case reference is 2512-2 which is correct for the calibre 265 movement.
Signed Omega winding crown.
The lens looks good to the naked eye. If viewed closely, there is a light 5mm scratch.
The signed dial has its original dauphine shaped hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. There is some darkening and light marking across the dial.
The watch comes on a vintage rolled gold Montal beads of rice style bracelet which fits a 20cm wrist when the clasp is on its largest setting. General light surface marking to the clasp.
If preferred, we can fit a leather strap instead of the bracelet.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
