Description
18th Century (c.1750) George II period antique mahogany console / fold-over card / games table. This high quality table features an attractively figured solid mahogany top rounded corners and edges. The top folds out to reveal a square inset baize, supported by a single gateleg rear leg. Within the frieze is a full width single drawer, with cockbeaded edges, and double elaborate brass pull handles. The table is raised on fine tapering round legs, with offset small pad feet, sat on small brass castors. An attractive high quality table, full of originality. Well presented, in very good condition. Cleaned and wax polished, and very much ready for use.

This table measures approximately 73.75cm (29") tall, 91cm (35.75") wide, 42.5cm (16.75") deep unfolded and 85cm (33.5") folded out across the top.

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This table is in a very good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. A single aged split on the top, well filled and polished over, a groove from the gateleg, again well polished in, some other minor odd marks and blemishes. Other than that no obvious signs of damage or repair. Original handles, hinges and castors. Everything works well and as it should. No loose joints. Never French polished. Attractive original colour, with pleasing original patina throughout. Very good wax polish finish. Sensitively cleaned and waxed, and now very much ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
