George III Mahogany Demi-lune Card Table with Boxwood Inlay c.1790
Elegantly proportioned George III mahogany demi-lune card table with boxwood inlay. Fold-over top with top leaf in a one-piece, figured mahogany veneer with narrow kingwood crossband and box stringing. Edges with mahogany crossbands and box lines above an apron with figured mahogany panels inlaid with boxwood and ebony lines. Square tapered legs with inlaid boxwood detail to front (matching apron) and terminating in spade feet. Rear legs open on rule joints to support the opened top. Hinged top opens to reveal a baize playing surface with mahogany crossbanded and box lined border. Current playing surface is age-distressed however this can be re-baized to suit customer requirements (please request a quote). Leg tops and gates with baize pads to protect the opened top. Aged to a gorgeous mellow colour. Sympathetically restored to a high standard and retaining its original finish.

This card table is in excellent condition commensurate with age. Current playing surface is age-distressed however this can be re-baized to suit customer requirements (please request a quote). Original finish retained. Minor historic marks, wear and repairs as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. This table has been restored in our workshop to a very high standard using traditional methods and materials. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
