Description
A wonderful true antique. Dating from c1795 this wonderful period corkscrew has embossed reeded banding and barrel form, with a steel screw. Stamped to the base It, maybe Joseph Taylor of Birmingham.

Queens Antiques & Collectables has clarified that the George III Silver Travelling Corkscrew c.1795 (LA473289) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1795
condition
In well used condition, the screw itself is broken and only half remains. There are several dings and losses to the silver. However it screws shuts firmly and is a wonderful piece of Georgian history. A real treasure.
