Description
This is an exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver Art Deco three piece condiment set - boxed; an addition to our dining silverware collection. This exceptional antique George V three piece sterling silver condiment set consists of a salt, a pepper pot and a mustard pot. The pieces of this fine silver condiment set have a plain circular rounded form onto a plain circular pedestal foot. The surface of each piece is embellished with concentric circle decoration, to the lower portion, all in the desirable and iconic Art Deco style. The mustard pot is fitted with an impressive Art Deco circular loop style handle and a hinged hallmarked plain cover. The pepper pot is fitted with a push fit cover with pierced 'pepper' holes. The covers to the pepper pot and mustard pot are surmounted with a sterling silver tapering cylindrical Art Deco style finial. The salt and mustard pot are fitted with removable frosted clear glass liners. This antique silver condiment set retains the original salt and mustard spoons, each ornamented with a circular motif to the handle terminal. The hallmarked bowl of each desirable spoon is further ornamented with Art Deco concentric circular details, reflecting that of each vessel's body. These fine examples of antique silverware are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a hinged catch. Each piece of this exceptional set, including the original spoons, are signed with the maker's mark 'Charles Boyton', in addition to the full hallmarks; this is a renowned and collectable maker.
