This is a good pair of large 19th century Mosanic cats in the Galle style with a lovely green glaze, hand painted detail and glass eyes. The cats have the Mosanic signature to the base which is from Max Emanuel and company, a glass and porcelain importer and retailer who had a store in London from 1845 to 1914. The firm had a large network of suppliers and many renowned companies sold their items via the shop in London, most notably Loetz glassworks in Bohemia who Max commissioned a large range of products from during this time.
These cats are in lovely original condition, one paw has been reattached shown in photos and slight nibbles to edges of the feet but otherwise excellent with a lovely colour. They are beautifully hand painted and have the signature heart motif always seen on these Mosanic pieces.
