Gordon Russell Oak & Leather Foot Stool c.1930

This is a delightful and ever so useful golden oak stool which has enjoyed a new “seat” in a lovely grained green leather hide which will age wonderfully. This one from Gordon Russell is dated around the 1930s and was used as either a little seat for a dressing table or as a footstool. It is of simple form with well sized English oak legs and an arched seat making it a little more comfortable to sit on or plonk one's feet on. The stool sits in good historical order with age marks and we have reupholstered the seat in a soft green grained leather with new webbing and have utilised the original filling. No makers label but we have images of the stool from the Archives of Gordon Russell. Billy Hunt has successfully focused on British furniture and lighting since 2014 and always has an interesting ever changing selection of carefully chosen pieces from the early 1800s to late 1970s. Our base is a large Victorian 2 storey red brick barn on a wonderful traditionally run country estate in Staffordshire. We are able to offer a first class upholstery service and also assistance in interior design if requested. If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with moving the item.
