Harlequin Set of Victorian Cut Glass Champagne Bowls
Six superb cut glass champagne coupes, assembled to form a 'harlequin' set. Harlequin sets are individual examples placed together to celebrate a combination of their similarities and differences. This fine set all date from the late-Victorian era, are superior examples and are detailed as follows.
1. Slice cutting to bowl. Shaped and cut hourglass stem with air bubble blown through. Polished pontil to foot.
2. Panels of flute cutting to bowl. Fabulous bark cut stem with teardrop blown through. Polished pontil to foot.
3. Thumbnail and petal cutting to bowl. Collar to foot. Slice cut baluster stem.
4. Wide panels of slice cuts to the bowl. Stem is shaped and slice cut, with facet ball knops to top and bottom and teardrop blown through. Polished pontil to foot.
5. Small panels of thumbnail cutting to bowl surrounding a panel of strawberry diamonds. Baluster slice cut stem with teardrop blown though and facet cut ball knop. Polished pontil to foot.
6. Desirable hollow stem with slice cutting which extends to bowl and supporting knop to base of stem. Polished pontil to foot.
