Huge Antique Vellum Leather Hatbox

This is a super huge antique vellum leather hatbox, or perhaps it is a suitcase for carrying something specific, I really don't know. It is almost square being 21" wide x 20" deep and 18" high and very unusual, I have never seen one this size and shape before. It has a nice brown leather carrying handle to the top which is good and strong, and the locks work fine with strong springs. It has a small plaque to the from with the name and address of a former owner. It is used and travelled but has no faults that I can see, and it is lined in a beautiful green silk with side pockets. I would say it probably dates from the 1920s when a lot of this vellum luggage was made, it's stylish and lovely and sumptuous, and would look great in any environment.
