Description
SALE - WAS £180 NOW £110 Just freshly in, a large early 20th century (circa 1920s) hand-made Japanese porcelain serving tray in good original condition displaying later applied felt corners and edges to the underside and gilded/decorated in enamels with a warrior, two female attendants and a young boy. Both the warrior and boy carry katanas (Japanese swords). The procession is against a mountainous background with Mount Fuji, sailing yachts and pagoda style buildings, trees and birds which fly high to the left in a 'V' shaped formation.
The tray measures 36 cm square, has re-entrant corners and, being super critical, has only minor gilding wear to the edge of the rim commensurate with age.
Very nice quality decoration.
