Large Inlaid Rosewood Regency Style Jewellery Box + Tray c.1845

Large very early Victorian or possibly Regency period inlaid rosewood jewellery box in excellent condition. Slightly tapering sides, front and back with raised lid. Contrasting edge trim and inlays to emphasise the style. Inlaid brass escutcheon. All inlays , trim and veneer is original, complete and in excellent condition. Original ornate brass side hoop handles. The lid closes perfectly square. Brass ‘stop’ hinges and lock in very good condition with a working key supplied. The interior has been relined to a very high standard. Removable tray with side handles. 16 storage sections, the centre 4 with removable lids and gilt ornate hoop handles. Please note the nice finishing touch of the material to all of the top edges of the tray…an indication of the standard of finishing. Generous storage beneath the tray for those larger items of jewellery. Attractive rich coloured grain.
