Clockwise is delighted to welcome into its collection a lovely restored LNER fusee railway clock. The eight day fusee rectangular plate anchor movement is chain-driven and has just benefitted from a full overhaul so the clock enjoys a three year guarantee. The movement bears the Stockmar logo to the backplate.
The superbly restored 8 inch dial illustrates the maker as Stockall Marples & Co London which dates this clock to around 1910 and it has been restored to its original lettering. The Lner records show this clock as previously in use for Great Central Railways and last in use at the Sheffield Brighouse Goods Agents office. Original spade hands behind an original spun brass bezel complete the impressive appearance.
The mahogany case is of standard pegged construction and has a side inspection door and lower door. The lower door is missing its lock but shuts firmly as does the bezel with its shortened bezel tab.
This is an increasingly rare find, genuine railway clocks are becoming ever more scarce so enjoy this clock whilst you can.
Clockwise specialises in longcase and bracket clocks and with global clients from the world of business, film, sport, royalty and aristocracy - yet more than happy with traditional clients - Clockwise has an unrivalled reputation for excellence and superb service.
