Stunning set of genuine 'Mouseman' pieces from the mid 20th century, this classic English Yorkshire dining set is made of solid oak and exudes the quality and skilled craftsmanship of the original founder of the 'Yorkshire Critters' furniture makers group.
- Provenance, private Yorkshire estate.
- Large maker's mouse carving running up one table leg, with one on each of the front right chair legs.
- Hand adzed table top on two carved octagonal legs, with single chamfered stretcher at floor level.
- Four dining chairs, plus carver, each with finely carved lattice back panel.
- Seats have been reupholstered in tan cow hide by the current Robert Thompson workshops in Kilburn, Yorkshire and have fire labels.
A fabulous set, these are both functional for a dining room or large country kitchen, and an investment in what is sure to be one of the best known names in the antiques world of the future.
In good condition. The chairs have been professionally reupholstered by Robert Thompson's Craftsmen Ltd in Yorkshire.
