Noteworthy Interesting Antique Khamseh Tribal Rug - South West Persia

South West Persia - Last Quarter of The 19th Century. I adore these South Persian tribal weavings and this example is an interesting and noteworthy example the devil being in the details as usual - Rare to come across an example on this gorgeous sapphire blue central field colour with central twin butterscotch coloured medallions with stylised cypress trees to the top and bottom and in the middle. The field scattered with tribal devices, rosettes, foliage, Peacocks and Birds and again to the centre a pair of pecking Chickens. To the upper right side field are two figures, presumably a man and a woman maybe I think the weavers of the rug and have put themselves in it. This is a true tribal piece of art with stunning colours and condition. All over low even pile. all ends and sides secure. hand-washed and de-dusted. All wool construction with two rows of red weft threads as is usual in these weavings. Price £4950 Gbp. Bank transfers, viewings, discussions, etc all welcomed.
