Pair of 1950s Aluminium Flight Cases by Heston Luggage 29" 'Astral'

Pair of 1950s aluminium flight cases with steel locks and aluminium corners. They are finished in a grey enamel which is very hard wearing. These suitcases were made after Ww2 using aluminium recycled from planes, or simply using up supplies of sheets of aluminium. They have the maker's stamp Heston Astral. Both cases are clean inside, and lined with a tan material. They are light and easy to handle, and were very popular at the time and are still usable today as cases, or for decorative purposes. They are in excellent used condition. They have flown many miles and show minor signs of use and wear.
