Rare Early 20th Century Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson Fruit Bowl

Rare item indeed with a fantastic patination and colour, the best 'Mouseman' (1876 - 1955) hand-tooled oak fruit bowl we have ever handled. Thompson's workshops reports that in around the late 1950's/early 1960's the carved mouse signature moved from the outside to the inside to reduce wood wastage, this fabulous totally original untouched example of superb colouration dates from circa 1930's when Robert Thompson was still alive and working productively. Please do reference an almost identical example sold by renowned 'Mouseman' auctioneers Tennants (Leyburn) in March 2023 (lot 454) that made £1,600 hammer which equates to around £2,000 paid taking into account buyer's premium and Vat. The same auctioneers have also sold an English burr yew example of a 'Mouseman' fruit bowl in October 2023 for £2,500 hammer. Needless to say, this is a serious early collectors piece and will be shipped to the lucky buyer free of charge.
