Rare French Antique Gorge de Pigeon Pink Opaline Glass Perfume Scent Bottle Silver Lid c.1880

Offered for your consideration is this rare antique French scent bottle dating circa 1880 and standing 7.5 cm in height. This rare antique perfume bottle is made of hortensia coloured opaline semi translucent glass known as "gorge de pigeon" - pigeon's throat. This shade of pink was obtained by adding gold salts and is particularly sought after by collectors, This scent bottle has sloping rounded shoulders and base and is fitted with a silver gilt screw lid (unmarked but tested) which has attractive repousse decoration and the bottle has a clear glass inner stopper. I have photographed the scent bottle in different lights to show how the colour changes depending on the background. This perfume bottle is offered in good condition with a manufacturing fault at the top of the shoulder as shown in the penultimate image. The lid fits firmly and securely and has no dents or dings. This is a very rare scent bottle which I have priced bearing the small fault in mind. Thank you for looking.
