Description
Offered for sale is this early 19th Century (c.1820) Regency antique rosewood tea caddy dating from c 1820 and in excellent original condition. It is smothered in fine brass inlay in swags and swirls, with the two inner hinged lids having brass inlay too. We have cleaned and waxed the caddy, but it needed no restoration at all, as it is in simply stunning order. None of the rosewood is missing, and all of the brass is perfectly intact. To the sides are brass lion's head handles with rings. The only thing I have to say to its detriment is that the glass mixing bowl is not original. It sits perfectly in the gap and works fine, but it is not the same age as the caddy. This 200 year old genuine antique is a wonderful thing, and stunning quality, and priced very reasonably. In my view.
