Description
A magnificent, fine and impressive pair of antique Russian silver and polychrome cloisonné enamel candlesticks; an addition to our continental silverware collection These magnificent antique Russian silver candlesticks have a circular rounded form. The waisted shaped capitals of these exceptional examples of antique 1890s silverware are embellished with fine and impressive cloisonné scrolling foliate designs and geometric motifs using various tones of blue, red and white sections of polychrome enamel, all on a matte background. The capitals are supported by shaped columns incorporating a circular knop to the upper portion embellished with oval bead designs incorporating white enamel decoration.
