Description
19th Century Victorian antique rosewood secretaire Wellington chest of drawers with five drawers and a discreet writing drawer to the centre.
-An overall typically early 19th century design featuring the ‘balanced’ aesthetic which was of the height of fashion during the 1840s.
-Featuring carved motifs at the top to each side of the drawers, with the right-hand side attached to the opening panel.
-The two drawers at the top are slim which would be suitable to store small stationary items. All drawers are adorned with quaint round wooden knobs.
-A discreet writing drawer to the centre can be pulled out and reveals a stunning leather skiver surface with gilt embossing.
-To the rear of the drawer, as shown, are two small veneered drawers, above this are decorative cubby holes also displaying veneered details.
-Below the secretaire are three deeper drawers than the ones above, these will be suitable for storing paper or electrical cables and other miscellaneous items.
Very useful in an at home office with a early 19th century decor or for those who enjoy writing. The compact form allows it to blend seamlessly into the home in most living spaces.
