Description
A rare brass door knocker depicting the “Old Welsh Bridge ” from the 14th century of Shrewsbury. Coats of Arms for the area on main back plate with the gatehouse, and Latin writing to the ring which mentions the old name of Shrewsbury, a date which could be 1326, and other Latin words which translate to a town and being “fruitful” and maybe faithful…?…
Pin slightly worn on ring, but not broken.
Registered Design Number to rear which is not totally stamped clearly but could have been issued as early as 1905…or no later than 1930’s….so at least British made.
Additional photographs and information available on request. FaceTime facility available.
