Description
This antique silver [.830 grade] heart shaped pendant, often called an olfactory box, most likely originates from Norway or elsewhere in Scandinavia. Despite expending considerable effort, we have been unable to definitively identify the maker or specific location for its origin - as the critical markings which are located on the upstand of the bottom half are distorted through nearby further strike marking. That said we have been able to identify partial marks and are sure the silver grade is .830 and that this delightful item is most likely to originate between late 1700s - mid 1800s.
