Silver Snake Brooch, Chinese New Year

A delicate silver snake (or asp) brooch from the late 1990s. Fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1992 it was made by a silversmith probably using the letters EH or FH. It is difficult to identify the maker, as both the curvature of the silver used in the manufacture of this piece, access to the bottom of the loop and the slight misstrike of the Assay Office conspire to make certainty virtually impossible. With 2025 being the Chinese 'Year of the Snake', what could be more appropriate than wearing this delightful piece on a black or dark blue fabric; jumper, blouse or cashmere?
